Bio
EVBP (Experimental Voice Box Programmer) is the musical alias of Adam Noveskey, whose genre-blending approach has defied easy categorization for over two decades. His early releases rejected digital recording in favor of the raw sound of a 4-track portastudio. The more polished sound of 2010’s The X of Art EP and 2016’s The Mechanical Essence of Whiskers brought EVBP wider recognition within the Midwest’s independent music scene.
With 2020’s パラメータの特定のセット (A Certain Set of Parameters), short, quirky, guitar-driven pop-punk songs gave way to tense, at times glitchy, soundscapes. This was followed a year later by the vaporwave masterpiece, Faux Pleasure. Combining 1980s TV commercials, smooth jazz, and pitch-drifting synthesizers, the album explores the dark side of capitalist escapism.
Arriving on Inauguration Day 2025, Only Criminals Get Caught, Part 1 merges synthpop’s commercial sheen with a punk rock sneer. Its radio-friendly melodies are laced with biting critiques of American politics (“Only Criminals Get Caught”), societal injustice (“#LifeHack”), and mainstream news fear-mongering (“Are You Afraid?”). The album speaks directly to a world in turmoil, with its music serving both as an escape and a call to action.
